1. LAST TIME OUT: The Badgers opened postseason play on Saturday with a 4-1 win against No. 8 Minnesota Duluth.
Wisconsin was led by a balanced attack as
Abby Roque,
Daryl Watts,
Caitlin Schneider and
Sophie Shirley all scored for the Cardinal and White. Senior netminder
Kristen Campbell made 34 saves in net to earn the victory.
2. TOURNEY TIME: The Badgers enter the weekend on an eight-game winning streak in postseason play and have won 18 of its last 19 WCHA tournament games dating back to the 2014-15 season.
UW has won four of the last five WCHA Final Faceoff titles, and the program's eighth tournament crowns are the most in conference history. Sunday will make UW's 12th appearance in the WCHA championship game.
3. POWERING UP: UW's power-play has been on fire this year as its .359 clip paces the NCAA and would be a school record if the season ended today. The Badgers are the only school in the NCAA to have a power-play operating at above a .300 clip.
Senior
Abby Roque's nine power-play tallies this year not only pace the WCHA, but rank fourth nationally.
4. AGAINST THE BUCKEYES: After notching an overtime goal in Saturday's matchup, No. 5 Ohio State defeated No. 3 Minnesota in a 4-3 OT win in its semi-final playoff game.
The Badgers lead the all-time series with Ohio State 67-14-10 as they look to make a comeback from their last series setback of a 1-3 loss Feb. 15 and a 1-1 draw at UW's Fill the Bowl Feb. 16.
Roque has scored once against the Buckeyes every game this season, posting the only two Badger goals in the last series. In the Feb. 15 tie, sophomore
Britta Curl notched a critical WCHA point for the Badgers in 3-on-3 overtime.
5. SELECTION SUNDAY: The winner of Sunday's WCHA Final Faceoff will be guaranteed an automatic bid into the 2020 NCAA National Collegiate Women's Ice Hockey Tournament as the eight-team field will be announced on Sunday at 8 p.m. CT live on NCAA.com.
UW looks to make the tournament for the seventh-straight season.
