Women's golf earns Big Ten preseason honors

Three Badgers named to watch list
MADISON, Wis. — The Big Ten Conference announced the 2020-21 Big Ten Women's Golfers to Watch List on Tuesday.
Featured on the list are seniors Claire Fitzgerald and Bobbi Stricker and junior Tracy Lee. All three golfers were named Academic All-Big Ten last season.
Fitzgerald makes her second consecutive appearance on the list after averaging a 74.20 last season. The Lake Mary, Florida native is the fourth-best scorer returning from last season and has a career average of 79.95. She notched a top-15 finish last season tying for 15th with a 147 in the stroke play portion of the East West Match Play Challenge, hosted at University Ridge.Â
Redshirt senior Stricker finished last season averaging 76.43 and recorded two top-25 finished, including a fifth-place finish at the Gunrock Invitational with a career-low 222. The Madison, Wisconsin native also won the individual division of the East West Match Play Challenge last season and has a career average of 77.48.
Lee also makes her second-consecutive appearance on the watch list. She averaged 75.35 last season and recorded one top-25 finish with a 140 to tie for 24th in the stroke-play portion of the East West Match Play Challenge. The Seoul, South Korea native has a career average of 75.28 and is the top returner for the Badgers this season.
Wisconsin starts the 2020-21 season February 19-21 with the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational at The Golf Course at Great Waters in Lake Oconee, Georgia.
