Here are five more things to know:
LAST TIME OUT: The Badgers return to action after having the week off for spring break, where the team went on a training trip to the historic Pinehurst Golf Resort in North Carolina. UW last played in the Mountain View Collegiate, finishing 11th at the Preserve Golf Club at Saddlebrook in Tucson, Arizona. They shot +12, overall. Three Badgers finished in the top half of the field, highlighted by Alexia Siehl's top-five finish.Â
THE FIELD: This week's field provides a nice preview toward what's to come as it features three Big Ten foes and two teams ranked in the top-50. The Badgers will continue to square off with host Maryland, alongside Michigan and Penn State, for the remainder of the season with postseason play looming. UW's last round in the state of Maryland came at last year's Big Ten Championships, where now-junior Kate Brody finished as the runner-up at the Bulle Rock Golf Course in Baltimore.
SIEHL SEEKS SIMILAR FORM: Senior Alexia Siehl's fourth-place finish at the MountainView Collegiate was UW's highest finisher this season, and a career-best finish for the South Carolinian. She shot seven-under on the week, boosted by a career-low 66 (-6) during the second round. She had the field's third-most birdies with 14, while having the second-best Par 3 (2.75) and Par 4 (3.87) averages. Siehl placed higher than the five top-100 NCAA ranked golfers in the field, and was the highest finisher out of the Big Ten. Â
TAMMY'S TURF: Redshirt junior Tammy Wu played her first three seasons at Maryland, before transferring to UW this offseason, and now makes her return to the course. She tied for 35th at last year's Terrapin Invitational, going 11-over, and was Maryland's third-highest finisher as the team took fourth-place. The Taiwan native has continued to improve her game in her first season at UW, boasting two top-20 finishes and consistently finishing in the field's top half.Â
COMING TO A CULMINATION: The season continues to ramp up as the Badgers will play one more regular season event before the postseason. UW will head to their second-straight Big Ten course on April 12 for the Boilermaker Spring Classic on the grueling Ackerman-Allen Course at Purdue. They'll close the regular season in West Lafayette, before taking a week off and ultimately heading to Glendale, California, for the Big Ten Championships from April 24-26. Wisconsin finished sixth at last year's Big Ten Championship as Brody finished runner-up, while Siehl was in 25th.Â
