MADISON, Wis. – After a pair of Big Ten matches, the Badgers will finish non-conference play hosting three games at the Kohl Center. The first matchup comes against Nicholls on Wednesday at 7 p.m. CT. Before the midweek contest, here is the Starting Five.

.)    Last Time Out: No. 22 Wisconsin dropped its first road game of the season with a 73-55 loss to No. 21 Ohio State. Johnny Davis led the Badgers with 24 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals. UW forced 14 turnovers and held an eight-point advantage midway through the first half before OSU went on a 12-0 run and held onto the lead the rest of the game.

.)    Johnny Buckets: Through nine games, the sophomore guard is leading the team and ranks third in the Big Ten averaging 20.9 points per game. Davis has scored at least 15 points in every contest this season and is shooting 46.6 percent from the field.

.)    Davison Passes Trice: Senior guard Brad Davison moved into second place for the most made 3-pointers made in UW history with 247. He is now 23 away from reaching the record, which is currently held by Bronson Koenig with 270. The Maple Grove, Minnesota native is averaging 14.8 points per game along with 4.4 rebounds per contest.

.)    Hometown Hero: Senior center Chris Vogt's hometown of Mayfield, Kentucky was hit by a devastating tornado storm earlier this week. Looking to help any way he could, the UW transfer decided to raise money for organizations (Red Cross, Mayfield High School Resource Office, and Graves County) helping victims of the natural disaster. His GoFundMe campaign has already raised more than $60,000 dollars in three days with an initial goal of $10,000.

.)    UW and Nicholls State: The Badgers and Colonels have met once and UW holds the advantage with an 86-43 win in 2014 at the Kohl Center. Five Badgers scored in double figures that game, as Sam Dekker led all scorers with 17 points, while Josh Gasser (14 pts), Nigel Hayes (12 pts), Frank Kaminsky (10pts), and Vitto Brown (10 pts) rounded out the night for Wisconsin. Nicholls is 7-3 this season with wins over Northern Iowa and Cal Poly. The Colonels rank third in scoring in the Southland Conference averaging 80.0 points per game and the best defense statistically, holding opponents to 65.9 points per matchup and 40.4 percent shooting from the floor. On top of limiting teams on the scoreboard, Nicholls is forcing 17.3 turnovers each contest this season.
