Bacon goes back-to-back, Abramowicz earns first Big Ten honor

Bacon earns B1G honors for the second week in a row, Abramowicz joins her
MADISON, Wis. - After their second week of competition, Phoebe Bacon and Tazman Abramowicz were named Big Ten Women's Swimmer and Freshman of the week and Big Ten Men's Diver of the week, respectively.Â
Bacon continues to add honors to her freshman campaign. She was the champion in all three of her individual events this weekend which included the 100 Backstroke (51.76), 200 Backstroke (1.51.63) and the 200 IM (1.57.26). This is Bacon's second time claiming both swimmer and freshman of the week this season.
Abramowicz was an individual champion in three events and swept the diving competition. The junior form Calgary, Alberta took first in the 1M (343.60), 3M (349.05) and the platform (410.70).
Together these two helped their team to wins against Northwestern on the men's side and Illinois on the women's side.
Bacon and Abramowicz along with the rest of the Badgers' swim and dive teams will compete next in the Big Ten Championships in the coming weeks.
Women's Swimming: February 23-27 at Minnesota
Men's Swimming: March 2-6 at Ohio State
Women's and Men's Diving: 24-27 at Purdue
