BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — The Wisconsin women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 match at Indiana on Sunday afternoon at Bill Armstrong Stadium.
Indiana (4-3-0, 4-3-0 Big Ten) struck first with a goal by freshman Anna Bennett in the 12th minute, but UW (4-3-1, 4-3-1 Big Ten) came close to equalizing eight minutes later. Wisconsin's pressure forced a turnover right in front of the IU net, but
Cameron Murtha's shot was saved.
With just two minutes left in the first half, senior
Lauren Rice, making her season debut for UW, had a great look at net but IU's Bethany Kopel was able to make the save.
In the second half, the Badgers pressure again forced a couple more Indiana miscues, but UW was not able to convert on them.
Porter List got a good look at net late in the match, but her shot was also saved.
Jordyn Bloomer made five saves between the sticks for the Badgers
Up Next: UW returns home for a pair of matches against Maryland on Thursday and Rutgers on Sunday. Game times, along with game locations, will be announced in the coming days.
