MADISON, Wis. – A total of 11 Wisconsin men's rowers have earned recognition from the Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches Association as 2021 IRCA Scholar Athletes.
To earn the honor, rowers must be in their second year or more of eligibility, have competed in one of the top three boats during the season or at the 2021 IRA National Championships and boast at least a 3.50 grade-point average through the fall semester.

Matthew Bernard (Ann Arbor, Michigan),
Edward Brody (North Oaks, Minnesota),
Joseph Cleary (Brookfield, Wisconsin),
Henry Dern (Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin),
Breck Duncan (Brookfield, Wisconsin),
Jeremy Falstad (Mosinee, Wisconsin),
Joseph French (Wauwatosa, Wisconsin),
Isaac Krahn (St. Croix, Minnesota),
Lorenzo Miller (Wilmette, Illinois),
Matthew Palmer (Radnor, Pennsylvania) and
Aidan Schmidt (Eagan, Minnesota) were all honored for their excellence both on the water and in the classroom.
In the spring, 33 men's rowers were
honored as Academic All-Big Ten for a grade-point average above 3.0.
