CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Wisconsin women's tennis team continued its fall season at the ITA Midwest Regionals this weekend on the campus of Illinois. Competing for the Badgers was freshman Taylor Cataldi, sophomores Nastasya Semenovski and Alina Mukhortova, and senior Antonela Stoica.

Standing out in singles play was Taylor Cataldi, who earned her way to the quarterfinals with three wins. Both of Wisconsin's doubles teams, Cataldi/Semenovski and Mukhortova/Stoica, advanced to semifinals this past weekend.

As a result, Cataldi and both of UW's doubles teams punched their ticket to compete at the ITA Super Regional, Oct. 22-25 on the campus of Ohio State.

COACH'S CORNER:
"For many of our student-athletes, the past two weekends were their first-ever opportunities at fall competition," said head coach Kelcy McKenna. "We learned a lot about the areas we need to improve and how resilient we must be to compete at the highest levels. Our intentionality and focus on the details over the next training block will be essential as we establish our foundation of fundamentals.

"We are looking forward to the desire for growth that this team displayed from last week to this week. We're excited to continue building with this unique group of athletes!"
