Badgers win four at weekend meets

Lindeman, Schaefer, Bunke, and Robbins all claim titles
MADISON, Wis.- The Wisconsin women's track team and field sent throwers to the Illini Invitational, while the rest of the team traveled to Iowa City for the second day of the Larry Wieczorek Invitational on Saturday.

Recent Olympic trials qualifier, Josie Schaefer, claimed her first win of the indoor season in the shot put, winning with a toss of 53-9. She currently is seeded as fourth in the conference. Lindeman recorded a season's best of 46-10 3/4 to place fourth in the shot put.
Junior Destiny Huven continues her impressive season in the 60-meter hurdles. She finished third, running a season's best time of 8.33, just .02 seconds off her own school record. Her time ranks fourth in the Big Ten this season.
Two Badgers cleared 12-11 1/2 in the pole vault as Tia Dorshorst and Hailey Orlowski finished second and fourth, respectively. The performances were season bests and tie them for 12th in the Big Ten this season.

In the premier mile, four Badgers placed in the top eight, with Lucinda Crouch leading the pack with a personal best time of 4:44.72, which ranks sixth in the Big Ten this season. Three other UW athletes recorded top-seven finishes and personal best times as Shea Ruhly placed fourth in 4:49.13, Danielle Orie took fifth in 4:51.13 and Sarah Shulze was seventh in 4:56.57.
Freshman Mya Bunke placed first in the open mile with a personal best time of 5:05.99. Bunke beat her old personal best time by over four seconds.Â

Select Badgers will be traveling to Bloomington, Indiana, for the Hoosier Hills Invitational on Jan. 28-29. Some Badgers will also be traveling to Lexington, Kentucky, for the Rod Mccravy Invitational on the same dates.

Throwers win two at Illini Invitational
The Badgers started the meet off strong, sweeping the podium in the weight throw.  Sophomore Chloe Lindeman placed first throwing a 67 feet, 9¾ inches followed by Olivia Roberts throwing a 64-1¾ and Chikere Oduocha with a 56-2.  Lindeman is currently holding the fourth- farthest distance in the weight throw. She is also currently seeded second in the Big Ten. ÂÂ

Standing out for the Badgers was sophomore Kiley Robbins, who won the 60 meters with a time of 7.33 seconds.
