Five things to know: Women’s track travels to Indiana and Kentucky

Sprints and Jumps compete at Kentucky; distance at Indiana

MADISON, Wis.- The Wisconsin women's tack and field team continues its indoor season, competing at two different meets this weekend. Distance runners will be traveling to Bloomington, Indiana, to compete at the Indiana University Relays on Friday- Saturday. Events will start at 4 p.m. CT Friday and 9:45 a.m. CT on Saturday. Athletes competing in sprints and jumping events will travel to Lexington, Kentucky for the Rod McCravy Invitational on Friday-Saturday. Events will begin at 3 p.m. CT on Friday and 11 s.m. CT on Saturday.
Here are five events to watch this weekend.
1. HOW HIGH CAN YOU GO? Tia Dorshorst, Hailey Orlowski, Julia Moore, and three other Badgers are set to compete in the pole vault in Kentucky this weekend. Last weekend, Dorshorst jumped a height of 12 feet, 11 1/2 inches, ranking her ninth all time at Wisconsin. She will be competing against Hailey Orlowski, who still holds the sixth highest clearance in Wisconsin's history. The event starts at 5 p.m. on Friday.
2. LAP UPON LAP: A strong field of distance runners will be competing at Indiana this weekend. Senior Lucinda Crouch leads the Badgers in the mile after running 4 minutes, 44.72 seconds last weekend, which ranks sixth in the Big Ten. Joining her in the mile is Madison Mooney, making her indoor season debut with the second fastest seed out of the Badgers. Senior Alissa Niggemann competes for the first time in the new year, leading a strong UW field in the 3,0000 meters after running 9:18.90 in December. Sophomore Alexa Westley leads the Badgers going into the 5000 with a 16:19.97. Other distance runners scheduled to compete include Victoria Heiligenthal, Danielle Orie, Sarah Shulze, and Samantha Stieve. Wisconsin is also scheduled to run a distance medley relay this weekend.
3. STUBLER THE STUD: Competing in both the 400 and 600 meters in Kentucky is senior Bianca Stubler. Stubler currently has the sixth fastest time in Wisconsin's history in the 400 meters with a 55.20. She also holds the sixth fastest time in program history for the 600 meters with a 1:30.25. Stubler is coming off a win in the 600 meters, running 1:31.38 at the Badger Midwest Invitational.
4. JUMP. JUMP, JUMP: Juniors Armoni Brown and Diamond Black are scheduled to compete in the long jump at 3 p.m. on Friday at Kentucky. Brown currently holds the sixth farthest distance in the program's history, jumping a distance of 20 feet and half an inch. Diamond Black will also compete in the triple jump, which starts at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
5. SPEEDY BADGERS: Sprint star Kiley Robbins and hurdle champion Destiny Huven lead UW entries in the 60-meter dash and 60-meter hurdles. Robbins is coming off a win in the 60 meters at the Larry Wieczorek Invitational last weekend, running 7.33, which ranks her fourth in the Big Ten this season. Robbins is only .02 seconds off her own school record of 7.31 set last season. Huven is looking to add another win in the 60-meter hurdles to her resume for the season. She currently ranks fourth in the Big Ten this season with a time of 8.33. Also schedule to compete in the dash are Diamond Black, Armoni Brown, and Taylor Gilling on Friday at 4 p.m.
