MADISON, Wis. – Off to a 3-0 start this season, Wisconsin travels to the Bahamas for the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament. The Badgers open up play facing Dayton on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. CT on ESPN. Before the Badgers face the Flyers, here are some notes to know heading into the game.
STARTING FIVE
1.)Â BAHAMA BADGERS: This will be Wisconsin's third-ever appearance in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament. The Badgers won the tournament in 2014 and finished runner-up in 2018. This year's Battle 4 Atlantis field includes BYU, Butler, Kansas, NC State, Tennessee, Dayton, USC and Wisconsin.
2.) HOLIDAY TOURNAMENTS: The Badgers have played in a non-conference November tournament 15 of the last 17 seasons. Wisconsin owns a combined record of 26-12 (.684) in such tournaments since 2005, winning five holiday tourneys over the last 17 years.
3.) VIVA LAS VEGAS: Last season, Wisconsin won three games in three days to claim the 2021 Maui Jim Maui Invitational championship held in Las Vegas (due to COVID-19 travel restrictions). UW was also November tournament champions of the 2014 Battle 4 Atlantis, 2013 Cancun Challenge, 2011 Chicago Invitational, and 2005 Paradise Jam.
4.) LAST TIME OUT:Â Wisconsin opened the season 3-0 for the 2nd time in the last 3 seasons and the 3rd time under head
Greg Gard with a 56-45 win over Green Bay at the Kohl Center last Tuesday. The Badgers held the Phoenix to 45 points, the third-straight game UW has held GB below 50. Junior
Jordan Davis scored in double figures for the second straight game, following up a career-high 13 points vs. Stanford with 11 points vs. Green Bay, shooting 3-for-6 from 3FG.
5.) UP NEXT:Â Following the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament, the Badgers return home to host Wake Forest on Tuesday, November 29 as part of the 2022 ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
