MADISON, Wis. – Coming off an impressive comeback win on the road, Wisconsin men's basketball seeks to stay on the winning path with a game against Michigan on Sunday at noon. Before the Badgers and Wolverines tipoff at the Kohl Center, here is the Starting Five:
1.) Bye-Bye: UW beat Indiana 74-69 at Assembly Hall Tuesday night behind 30 points from
Johnny Davis and 21 points courtesy of
Brad Davison. The Badgers shot 24-for-52 (46.2%) from the field and outrebounded the Hoosiers 36-34.
2.) Can't Stop A Johnny: Johnny Davis scored Wisconsin's final 13 points and sparked a 13-3 run to overcome Indiana's seven point second-half advantage. He made seven free throws and three driving layups over the final 3:35. The sophomore form La Crosse earned his fifth double-double of the year as he grabbed 12 rebounds.
3.) Charity Distribution: Brad Davison went 10-for-10 on free throw attempts for the second time in his career. The last time he accomplished the feat came in a 75-50 win over Illinois at the Kohl Center. The senior guard is fourth all-time in free throw percentage (84.3%) at UW and is having his best season from the charity stripe as he is hitting 88.4% of his shots from that distance.
4.) A Legend Honored: Michael Finley's name and number will be raised into the rafters of the Kohl Center Sunday during halftime. He will become the third Badger to have a jersey hung in the arena. He was the first UW player to score 2,000 points and aided the Badgers to the 1994 NCAA Tournament, which ended a 47-year long drought without playing in the annual postseason event. In the professional ranks, he made the playoffs 10 times and averaged 15.7 points per game over 17 seasons.
5.) Series History: Wisconsin trails the overall series against Michigan, 93-77. In Madison, UW holds a 49-35 lead over the Wolverines. Including a 15-4 record when playing inside the Kohl Center. The Badgers last win against Michigan came back in February 2020 in an 81-74 victor
