Wisconsin sends select athletes to three different meets
MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin women's track and field team continues its outdoor season this weekend with most of the team traveling to Des Moines, Iowa for the Drake Relays on Friday-Saturday. Select distance runners will compete in the Penn Relays on Thursday-Saturday in Philadelphia while the throwers compete in Whitewater on Friday at the UW-Whitewater Drake Relays Alternate meet.

Here are five events to watch this weekend.
1. THROW FAR BADGERS: The Badger throwers travel to Whitewater on Friday with events beginning at noon. Chloe Lindeman, Chikere Oduocha and Olivia Roberts will compete in the hammer and discus at the meet. Roberts and Lindeman rank third and fourth in the hammer, respectively, at Wisconsin with personal bests of 195-7 and 195-6 1/2, which ranks sixth and seventh in the Big Ten this season.Â
2. PASS THE BATON: Badgers are set to compete in several relays this weekend at the Drake Relays. UW will compete in the 4x100-meter relay, the distance medley relay and 4x1600-meter relay. The quartet of Armoni Brown, Destiny Huven, Taylor Gilling and Kiley Robbins ran the second-fastest time in program history in the 4x100-meter relay of 44.53 at the Jim Click Shoot Out on April 8. That time also ranks fourth in the Big Ten this season.Â
3. DISTANCE RUNNERS HEAD TO PENN RELAYS: Select distance runners will compete at the Penn Relays from Thursda-Saturday. Danielle Orie will represent Wisconsin in the 5000-meter championship on Thursday at 5:50 p.m. CT. Athletes will also compete in the distance medley relay and 4x1500 meter relay. Potential athletes in the relays in Danielle Bellino, Lucinda Crouch, Victoria Heiligenthal, Alissa Niggeman, Shea Ruhly, Peyton Sippy, Emma Watcke and Alexa Westley.
4. HOW HIGH CAN YOU FLY? Julia Moore, Tia Dorshorst and Hailey Orlowski will compete in the pole vault at the Drake Relays on Friday at 1 p.m.. Orlowski leads the Badgers in the event and is currently ranked third all-time for UW with a height of 13-8 1/2. Dorshorst has cleared 13-1 1/2 this season, which ranks 12th in the Big Ten.
5. HURDLES X TWO: Destiny Huven is back for more in the 100-meter hurdles this weekend. The current school record holder in the event is looking to improve upon her season-best time of 13.16, set on March 24. She currently ranks third in the Big Ten this season. Bianca Stubler is currently seeded second in the Big Ten in the 400-meter hurdles after running a personal best time of 57.40 on April 9. Her time ranks second all time at Wisconsin, just .24 seconds off breaking the school record set by Tracey Mattes back in 1990.
