Badgers show off their depth against Pac-12, Big Ten boats
NORTH LIBERTY, Iowa – In its final racing preparation before the 2022 Big Ten Championships, set for May 15 in Indianapolis, the Wisconsin women's rowing team took on top competition from the Pac-12 and the Big Ten on Friday at Coralville Reservoir.
UW got wins in novice eight races against UCF and Iowa, while its second varsity eight finished in second place behind No. 12 USC (1.1 seconds) and No. 15 Oregon State (0.75 seconds) in a pair of races. Minnesota took a distant third in both contests.
The second novice eight beat Iowa twice, as well.

Head coach Bebe Bryans
"Overall we had a good day of racing. Many thanks to the Iowa staff for setting up a new racecourse in less than a day so we could race, as it was too windy on their home course. The new course had some substantial challenges but we were able to get good race experience, something we need more than anything at this point.
The freshmen eights had a great day today, as did the second varsity eight - they really threw down in their races in pretty challenging conditions. The fours were pretty solid as well, but the varsity eight never found their rhythm today.
"Good day for the Badgers as we are in the home stretch to the Big Ten championships."
