Box Score 2 MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Wisconsin softball team dropped both games of its midweek doubleheader at Minnesota Wednesday. The Badgers faced setbacks 1-0 – being walked off in the first game – and falling in game two 4-2.
Game 1
The Badgers were shutout for the first time in 41 games, falling to the Golden Gophers 1-0.
Maddie Schwartz had another strong outing in the circle, scattering six hits across 6 1/3 innings while allowing only one run.
Neither team found the scoreboard until the bottom of the seventh inning as Minnesota scored the game's only run off a walk-off double.

Abby Herbst collected hits in the setback for UW.
Game 2
The Gophers jumped out to a 2-0 lead on the Badgers after four innings, but UW wouldn't go down without a fight. UW loaded the bases thanks to a single from Hubbard, a single by Konwent and a hit batter.
Lauren Foster drew a bases-loaded walk with two outs to make it a 2-
1 game.
After Minnesota scored twice in the bottom of the fifth,
Peyton Bannon opened the top of the sixth inning with a triple and later scored on a wild pitch.
UW later got runners on first and second and were unable to score.
Tessa Magnanimo went 4.1 innings with three strikeouts.

UW returns home for its final series of the regular season against No. 22 Michigan. First pitch on Friday is set for 5 p.m., Saturday's game is set for a 1 p.m. start while the series finale on Sunday is scheduled for noon. The Badgers will recognize their seven-member senior class prior to first pitch on Sunday.
