Sharp wins Big Ten Cross Country Athlete of the Week

Third Badger to win Big Ten award this season

MADISON, Wis. - Wisconsin men's cross country senior Jack Sharp has been named Big Ten Cross Country Men's Athlete of the Week following his performance at last Friday's Wisconsin Nuttycombe Invitational Presented by Under Armour.

The two-time track All-American ran the 8K Zimmer Championship course in 23 minutes, 26.4 seconds in his 2023 cross country season debut.

Sharp is the third Badger to win the award this season, joining senior Bob Liking and junior Josh Truchon.

Sharp and UW will next be in action during the Big Ten Championships on Oct.27 at the Zimmer Championship Course in Madison. The men's 10k race will begin at 10:45 a.m.
