Here are five things to know about this Friday.Â

1. ALL-AMERICAN RETURNEES: Wisconsin had three individual swimmers plus one relay pick up All-American accolades last season as the Badgers finished 15th at the NCAA Championships, their highest team finish since 2017.
Paige McKenna raked in her second All-American accolade, finishing third in the 1650 freestyle.
Phoebe Bacon picked up three honors, placing second in the 200 back, fourth in the 100 back, and fifth in the 200 IM.
Abby Carlson placed second in the 500 free and 14th in the 200 free. UW also finished ninth in the 800 free relay with the team of Carlson, Bacon,
Alivia Lindorfer,
Mackenzie McConagha and
Blair Stoneburg.Â

2. B1G CHAMPIONS RETURN: Abby Carlson claimed her first Big Ten title as a sophomore last season, winning the 500 free in 4:38.15.
Paige McKenna also claimed her second consecutive 1650 free Big Ten title in 15:46.90 and placed fifth in the 500 free in 4:40.98. Despite being ill,
Phoebe Bacon earned a silver medal in the 200 IM and a bronze medal in the 100 back to add to her conference accomplishments. Other top Big Ten scorers returning include
Callahan Dunn,
Mackenzie McConagha,
Hazal Ozkan and
Blair Stoneburg. Wisconsin finished fourth in the Big Ten, finishing the meet with 954 points.

3. WELCOME NEW BADGERS: Wisconsin welcomes eight new Badgers to the roster this season, including
Tia Primc, who just competed for team Slovenia in the LEN U23 Championships in Dublin, Ireland. Wisconsin also welcomes
Hailey Tierney, a Pewaukee, Wisconsin, native who holds the fastest 50 free time for the class of 2023. Maddie Waggoner also looks to strengthen the distance freestyle group, ranking in the top 25 for distance recruits.Â

4. DIVING RIGHT IN: Returning for the Badgers this season is junior
Molly Hampton, who led the team with a 14th-place finish in the platform dive at last year's NCAA Zone D Championship. Wisconsin welcomes two new divers this season --
Ryane Neal and
Vivian Kinnard. Kinnard was a four-time Michigan state finalist in high school. Neal was a two-time NISCA All-American and a six-time USA Diving Junior National qualifier.

5. PRESEASON RANKINGS: According to SwimSwam news, the Badgers come in at No.12 in the preseason power rankings.
