MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin women's soccer team (12-3-4) is heading to Columbus, Ohio, for the Big Ten Tournament semifinal round. The Badgers are the No. 3 seed in the tournament (No. 12 in the country) and will face the No. 2 seed in Nebraska (No. 15 in the country). The match is scheduled for 4 p.m. (CT) on Thursday, Nov. 2.

Here are five things to know:

1. KNOW THE OPPONENT: The Badgers are 6-6-3 all-time against Nebraska, with the two sides facing each other earlier this season. That match was played on Sept. 15, in Lincoln, and ended in a 1-1 draw after a 88th minute goal by Aryssa Mahrt.

The No. 15 Cornhuskers finished the season 14-2-3 and have one of one of the most prolific scorers in the country in Eleanor Dale. The senior currently has 25 goals and four assists. Dale was also named was named Big Ten forward of the year. Nebraska is coming off a 3-2 win against Ohio State in the first round of the tournament.

2. BIG TEN SEMIFINALS: The Badgers have only made it to the Big Ten Tournament Semifinals in two of the past eight seasons (2017, 2021). The team's last semifinals appearance in 2021, the delayed 2020 season due to COVID, resulted in a 1-0 loss to Iowa.

3. RECAPPING THE WEEK: Wisconsin outlasted Rutgers in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament on Sunday, Oct. 29. At the end of both regular time and overtime, the score remained 0-0. As a result, the match headed to penalty kicks. A huge performance by Erin McKinney, which included two saves, in combination with converted kicks by Mahrt, Emma Jaskaniec, Hailey Baumann, and Ashley Martinez lifted the Badgers to victory.
