PROVIDENCE, R.I. —
AJ Storr scored a game-high 22 points, but Wisconsin suffered a 72-59 loss on the road against Providence on Tuesday night in the Gavitt Tipoff Games.
John Blackwell was another bright spot for the Badgers (1-2 overall), as the freshman finished with 11 points and five rebounds off of the bench.
UW shot just 33.9 percent from the floor, including 5-for-20 from 3-point range.
The Friars (3-0) were led by Devin Carter's 21 points.
Providence used a 17-2 run to build an early 27-9 lead in the game. Wisconsin went 4 of 21 from the field in the opening 11 minutes and finished the first half with 27 percent shooting.
The Friars led 37-21 at halftime.
Providence scored eight of the opening 10 points in the second half for a 45-23 lead.
Wisconsin returns home to host Robert Morris on Friday at the Kohl Center.
