Humboldt, Iowa — No. 18 Wisconsin wrestling suffered its first dual match loss to No. 10 Iowa State on the road on Sunday, losing 42-0.

Held at the high school in Humboldt, Iowa, the dual match was streamed live on UFC Fight Pass.

Three Badgers kept their bouts close with losses by decision.

Wisconsin junior Dean Hamiti, ranked No. 4 in the nation at 165 pounds, narrowly lost to Iowa State's second-ranked David Carr in a 2-0 loss. Carr scored only an escape, then earned riding time throughout the third period to clinch the narrow 2-0 loss.

Joe Zargo fought a gritty match with ISU's Casey Swiderski, losing in a 9-4 decision. Zargo kept it close through out and scored on a takedown and an escape, but could not turn the bout for the win.

UW redshirt senior Josh Otto wrestled up two weight classes, earning a narrow 5-2 decision loss to seventh-ranked Yonger Bastida. Otto scored two escapes.

Wisconsin has a bye next week for the Thanksgiving holiday and will return home on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 1 p.m. against Bucknell. The match will be streamed live on B1G+.

Hamiti will also wrestle in the NWCA All-Star Classic this Tuesday, Nov. 21 at Penn State.
