MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin women's basketball team (5-4, 0-1 B1G) continues non-conference play at St. Thomas on Wednesday, Dec. 13. The game tips-off at 7:00 p.m., streaming on Summit League Network with a radio broadcast on 1070 WTSO-AM.
Here are five things to know before the Badgers matchup against the Tommies.
1. PORTER LEADS AGAIN: In Sunday's matchup against No. 4 Iowa, Ronnie Porter tied her career-best 17 points (7-12 FG, 1-3 3FG, 2-2 FT) and rebounded seven times. With her performance against the Hawkeyes, Porter is now ranked eighth in the Big Ten for rebounds, averaging 7.0/game. The Minnesota native also leads the B1G in steals with an average of 2.8/game.
2. STARTING SANIA: Sania Copeland has been a familiar face in the starting lineup for the Badgers this season. The sophomore recorded two career-highs in steals (4), and free throws made (4) against Iowa on Dec. 10. She is averaging 10.4 points per game and registers a free throw percentage of 70.6.
3. SOLD OUT CROWD: The matchup between the Badgers and Hawkeyes attracted 14,252 fans from all over. This number has ranked seventh all-time for women's basketball attendance at Wisconsin. It also recorded as a sell out, the first since Jan. 20, 2002, and the largest crowd since 2006.
4. DEFENSE LIVES HERE: The Badgers have made major strides to better their defense in just a year. UW's opponents are scoring less and turning the ball over more.
