Lauterbach ties for second at Big Ten Championship

Badgers take fifth at conference tournament
PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- After three rounds of play, Wisconsin women's golf has completed the 2023 Big Ten Championship. The Badgers finished in fifth place with a +38 (295-302-293=890).
Emily Lauterbach led Wisconsin as the Badgers' top-finisher, shooting a 69-73-71=213 to finish even par and tied for second place. This marks Lauterbach's second top-3 finish of the season, including a third place finish at the Marilynn Smith Invitational back in October.
Illinois grabbed the conference honors, shooting a 286-292-287=865 to finish 13-over, marking their first ever Big Ten Title in Women's Golf. The Fighting Illini narrowly passed state rival, No. 15 Northwestern, who completed the tournament with a 16-over par.Â
Lauterbach shot an ever-par in the final round of the tournament. The senior led the Badgers in each round, tallying a total of 10 birdies throughout the three rounds.
Vanessa Ho followed closely behind with a one-over 72 while Alexia Siehl shot a three-over par.Â
Chloe Chan carded a five-over par in the final round. Carly Carter tallied a six-over 77 and Gia Feliciano rounded out the lineup with a nine-over par.
Lauterbach led the Badgers once again, carding a two-over 73 with four birdies to continue her reign in the top-5.
