The Badgers competed hard in the morning heats and ended up in afternoon petite finals for places 7-12 in all four events they entered.
In the afternoon, the first and second varsity boats both finished in 11th place. The third varsity boat came in 13th and the fourth varsity boat finished 12th.
Wisconsin now shifts its focus to the 2023 Intercollegaite Rowing Association (IRA) National Championships which is set to take place in Lake Mercer, New Jersey in three weeks.

On the day
"It was a good weather day, fast conditions, very fast, and multiple course records were broken here today. Everybody raced better in the afternoon, and the second varsity just kept it going."
On the racing
In the heats, only the second varsity was pretty representative. The other three boats did not have good races. Then everybody raced better in the afternoon.
The second varsity just kept it going. There are two novice freshman and another freshman in there and these guys have done exceedingly well and we're excited about them in the future.
The varsity eight went out like a gunshot in the final. It was excellent and right with Northeastern leading or in second at least half of the race, if not more. I'm not sure if they don't trust themselves or realize that once you've paid that price you just continue to move. They were well ahead of everybody except Northeastern at the point, but let everyone creep back by the end. Then at the end instead of getting eighth or ninth, we got 11th. I still think it was a pretty good race -  we broke 5:40 – but not exactly what they wanted. We've got a lot to work on for sure. I'm really excited about these next few weeks.

On the quality in men's rowing
This regatta just shows how competitive men's rowing is. It's all international. Every single boat in the A final was under 5:30. The winning time was only about four seconds off the world record to give you an idea of how quick these boats are going. This isn't your grandfather's or ever your father's Eastern Sprints. It's so fast and deep all the way down to the fourth and fifth boats. We love it but it's a real challenge."
On the future
"We're excited about the next few weeks. Looking forward to just focusing on rowing on great water. We love the challenge. We've got our work cut out for us, but we're excited for the challenge."
