MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin men's golf is back home to host the 2023 Badger Invitational University Ridge Golf Course and TPC Wisconsin this weekend on Sunday, Oct. 1 to Tuesday, Oct. 3. 

Fans are encouraged to come watch some of the nation's top men''s collegiate golfers during the three-day tournament. This is a free event for fans.

Here are five things to know before the Badgers tee off:

1. Last Time Out: Wisconsin last competed in the Windon Memorial where they placed 14th at one-over par. The Badgers were led by Jacob Beckman, who finished one-under par and tied for 41st place. Purdue led the field of teams, completing the Memorial at 38-under par, a new record for the tournament. Read more about the Windon Memorial here. 

2. The Courses: Home of the Badgers, University Ridge is a par-72 and will be playing at 7,286 yards for the Invitational. The course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and opened in 1991. University Ridge is home to the annual American Family Insurance Championship tournament. The course, also known as "URidge", is consistently looked at as one of the top college golf courses in the country. Most recently, University Ridge was named the No. 2 best college golf course by GolfLink. 

Designed by Ryder Cup Captain Steve Stricker and PGA head of design Steve Wenzloff, TPC Wisconsin opened August 1st, 2023, after being renovated. The course sits on what is known as an "ecological wonder" called Cherokee Marsh. TPC Wisconsin's design incorporates water features and native greenery, allowing for a challenging yet one-of-a-kind experience. 

3. The Tournament: The Badger Invitational will be played from Sunday, Oct. 1 to Tuesday, Oct. 3, with 18 holes played on each day. Tee times on Sunday and Monday will begin at 9:30 a.m. CT off Holes 1 and 10. Wisconsin has tee times ranging from 10:20 a.m. CT to 11:00 a.m. CT on Sunday and Monday's times will be determined by seeding. Tuesday will begin with a shotgun start. 

The Badger Invitational individuals will play 36 holes on Sunday, Oct. 1 and 18 holes on Monday, Oct. 2. Tee times will begin at 8:00 a.m. CT on both days. 

4. The Field: Teams competing in the Invitational include Campbell, Central Arkansas, Eastern Michigan, Florida Gulf Coast, Illinois State, Long Beach State, Loyola of Chicago, Marquette, Maryland, MTSU, Nebraska, Northern Illinois, South Alabama, South Dakota State, VCU, Western Carolina and Wisconsin. Competing for the Badgers is Cameron Huss, Jacob Beckman, Coalter Smith, Carter Pitcairn and Blake Wisdom. Daniel Aas, McCord Grice, Spencer Turtz, Ryan Smith, Graham Moody and James Boustead will be competing as individuals in the tournament at TPC Wisconsin.
