MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Badger softball and head coach Yvette Healey  announced the signing of seven new players Wednesday morning, all from the state of Wisconsin. Claire Calmes, Berritt Herr, Kylee Molitor, Sydney Spear, Sydney Vitangeol, Madison Werner, and Addison Wery have all signed a national letter of intent with the Badgers.

"The 2025 recruits are our first-ever, All-Wisconsin signing class in program history," says Healey.

"The home-grown talent in these seven seniors speaks volumes to all the coaches and families committed to growing the game of softball in the state of Wisconsin."

Sydney Spear
Hometown: Ringle, Wis.
High School: D.C. Everest
Position: OF
Bats/Throws: L/R

Coach Healey on Spear: "Sydney Spear is a speedy lefty-slapper from D.C. Everest high school, and Mike Collins' Velocity program. She'll speed teams up and force errors like so many great in-state slappers over the years, including Maria Van Abel, Ashley Van Zealand, Megan Tancil, Bri Flugaur, and Ally Miklesh. Her footspeed, exit velocity and arm strength make a perfect fit at Wisconsin. She brings a true passion for Badger athletics and her family has a long history of growing the game of softball in the state of Wisconsin."

Kylee Molitor
Hometown: Reedsburg, Wis.
High School: Reedsburg
Position: INF
Bats/Throws: L/R

Coach Healey on Molitor: "Kylee Molitor is a triple-threat lefty slapper from Reedsburg, Wisconsin. She's a short-stop with great instincts, footwork and range who loves to play defense. Kylee has competed for Greg Dickel's Iowa Premier softball program, training and playing for All Big Ten short-stop and lefty hitter, Megan Blank. She'll walk in and make an immediate impact on the field."

Berritt Herr
Hometown: Ashwaubenon, Wis.
High School: Ashwaubenon
Position: P
Bats/Throws: R/R

Coach Healey on Herr: "Berrit Herr is a hard throwing pitcher from Shannon VanLaanen's Ashwaubenon high school team. She's been a force for Mike Collins' Velocity program, using her velocity to overpower opponents. We're excited to see how good Berritt can get with Coach Robert's expertise in the bullpen."

Addison Wery
Hometown: Seymour, Wis.
High School: Seymour
Position: C/3B
Bats/Throws: R/R

Coach Healey on Wery: "Addy Wery is a power hitting third-baseman and catcher from Seymore Wisconsin. She grew up playing for Randy Boydston and Chris Conger's, Wisconsin Lightning program, that helped put Wisconsin travel softball on the map. As a teammate of current freshmen Badgers Jackie Schowalter and Hannah Conger, Wery turned heads with her power at the plate and composure on the field. Addy comes from a strong Wisconsin softball family, as the younger sister of UW-Oshkosh Gold Glove catcher, Sophie Wery."

Claire Calmes
Hometown: Wausau, Wis.
High School: Wausau West
Position: INF
Bats/Throws: R/R

Coach Healey on Calmes: "Claire Calmes is a third basemen/shortstop from Wausau West high school. Claire is a driven, highly motivated go-getter, leading her hockey team to two state championships as a goalie, and chasing Valedictorian honors in the classroom.  As a leader in the Plover Softball summer organization, we know that Claire will continue to grow with WIAA Hall of Fame coach Tom Drohner, getting her ready for the Badgers."

Sydney Vitangcol
Hometown: Milwaukee, Wis.
High School: Wisconsin Lutheran
Position: P/1B
Bats/Throws: L/L

Coach Healey on Vitangcol: "Sydney Vitangcol is a left-handed pitcher from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, and the Indiana Magic organization. Her spin, leadership and competitive fire makes her one of the most exciting athletes in the state. She is a leader in her community and on the field. She's a winner, who finds a way to get it done for her team."

Madison Werner
Hometown: Colgate, Wis.
High School: Germantown
Position: 3B, OF, C
Bats/Throws: R/R

Coach Healey on Werner: "Maddison Werner is a catcher and third basemen from Germantown High school who has power, speed and arm strength. She played for former Wisconsin Badger All-American  Kayla Konwent's Velocity team before moving to Bill Conroy's Beverly Bandits organization. Madison has such a high ceiling, whenever you can combine footspeed, arm strength and exit velocity, amazing things can happen."
