MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin women's golf coach
Todd Oehrlein announced on Wednesday that Elyssa Abdullah, Ashton Hadley and Grace Slocum have each signed a national letter of intent to attend the University of Wisconsin.
"We're extremely excited to have Hadley, Elyssa, and Grace joining our program," Oehrlein said. "All three have impressed us with their passion and their excitement for the University of Wisconsin. They have highly competitive backgrounds, are great students, and will be a great fit for both our program and the University. We are thrilled that they chose Wisconsin!"
As signees in the Class of 2025, they will join the Badgers beginning with the 2024-25 season.
ELYSSA ABDULLAH
Hometown: Hinsdale, Ill.
High School: Hinsdale Central High School
- As a senior, won the 35th annual Celtic Swing and the Rosie Invitational
- West Suburban Conference champion
- IHSA Regional champion
- IHSA 2A state sixth place finish
- IHSA Scholastic Achievement Award
- Hinsdale Central Scholar Athlete
- West Suburban Conference Academic Achievement Award
- 2022 IHSA Class 2A State Champions
- Girls Golfer of the Year in 2021-22

"I loved how consistent Elyssa was every time I saw her play. She drives the ball really well and showed improvement in her scoring areas. We're excited about the growth that she continues to show as a player."
Hadley Ashton
Hometown: Erie, Colo.
High School: Erie High School
- Two-time AJGA Champion (2022)
- Played in three USGA championships (2021, 2022, 2023)
- Was the youngest JGAC Tour Championship winner in 2021
- 2023 Colorado Golf Association (CGA) Junior Player of the Year
- 2022 Sportswoman High School Golfer of the Year
- As a senior, earned a second-place finish at the Copper Valley AJGA Open
- As a junior and sophomore (2023, 2024), was named Player of the Year and the No. 1 player in the state
- Won three straight team state championships her junior, sophomore and freshman year (2022, 2023, 2024)
- Won the individual state championship as a freshman (2022)

"Hadley has had a lot of success nationally and has great energy. She's confident and can be a great leader. She consistent on the golf course and is a fierce competitor."
Grace Slocum
Hometown: Traverse City, Mich.

- Three-time regional champion (2022, 2023, 2024)
- Three-time conference champion (2021, 2022, 2023)

- Record-Eagle Player of the Year in 2022, 2023 and 2024
- Team regional championship her senior year
- Won a conference championship her junior year (2023)
- Team finished runner-up in conference championship her sophomore year
- Her team was a state qualifier all four years of high school
- Slocum has also competed in cross country, track and travel hockey
- National Honors Society, St. Francis Medical Society, and St. Francis-American Red Cross Group
Coach Oehrlein on Grace Slocum:
"I love how strong Grace is athletically. She is so passionate about golf and just kept getting better every time I saw her play. Her length will be a huge asset in college golf and she's a really hard worker."
