AUSTIN, Texas. – The No. 10 Wisconsin women's swim team wrapped up the final day of competition at the Texas Invite on Friday night with three NCAA "A" cuts and "B" cuts.
After picking up the NCAA "B" cuts earlier this season,
Phoebe Bacon and
Maggie Wanezek did one better and grabbed "A" cuts in the 200 back. Bacon finished with a time of 1:49.66 while Wanezek finished at 1:50.62.
Abby Wanezek's time of 48.65,
Hailey Tierney's 48.85 and
Abby Carlson's 49.09 all clinched NCAA "B" cuts in the 100 freestyle.
Hazal Ozkan (2:08.46),
Katie McClintock (2:11.04),
Callahan Dunn (2:12.63) and
Bridget McGann (2:12.84) all secured NCAA "B" cuts in the 200 breaststroke.
The only Badger in the 200 fly,
Mackenzie McConagha, earned an NCAA "B" cut with a time of 1:55.95.
The 400 free relay team of
Abby Wanezek,
Hailey Tierney,
Abby Carlson and
Phoebe Bacon finished with a time of 3:13.54 to clinch an NCAA "A" cut.
Up next
This marks the final meet of the fall for the Badgers. They will return to action on Jan. 4 to take on UC San Diego, UCLA and UNLV in California.
