
Five Things to Know: Badgers hit the road

Wisconsin competes in two separate meets
MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin women's track and field team is heading to two different meets this weekend, with throwers and middle distance and distance runners heading to Dubuque, Iowa, for Friday's Solomon W. Butler Classic. Four athletes will also head to South Bend, Indiana, for the Alex Wilson Invitational on Saturday.

Here are five events to watch this weekend.
1. THROWING DOWN WITH THE BADGERS: The Badgers' weight throwers are back in action this weekend after sweeping the top-five finishes at the Badgers Windy City Invitational. They are led by redshirt senior Chloe Lindeman, who won the event with a season-best distance of 73 feet, 6 1/4 inches (22.41). Her throw ranks her third in the Big Ten and seventh in the NCAA this season. She will be joined by Olivia Roberts, Abby Peeler, Chikere Oduocha, Asia Rave, Danni Langseth, and Taylor Kesner.
Langseth will also compete in the shot put at 2 p.m. She is coming off a seventh-place finish with a distance of 50-4 ¾ (15.36). Zonica Lindque will represent the cardinal and white for the first time this season as she will compete alongside Langseth; she competed unattached last weekend, finishing second with a distance of 53-7 ¾ (16.35m).
2. DISTANCE WATCH: A handful of Badgers are entered to compete in middle and distance events on Friday in Dubuque. Ashley Peterson, Madelaine Sweeney, and Erinn Hill Will all compete in the 3,000-meter run at 7:45 p.m.
Annika Cutforth, Myra Stray, Anna Schoesser, Annika Elliott, and Zaira Malloy-Salgado will all compete in the mile at 4:50 p.m.
3. MIDDLE DISTANCE DUO: Junior Maggie Munson and freshman Ruby Madden will compete alongside each other in the 800 meters on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Munson is coming off of a 13th-place finish in the 800 meters at the Badgers Windy City Invitational where she crossed in 2:13.26, while Madden finished 10th in the mile last weekend with a time of 4:48.11.
Madden is also expected to appear in the mile on Saturday afternoon.
4. LEAPS AND BOUNDS: Freshman Elissa Perkins is set to compete in the long jump and triple jump at the Alex Wilson Invitational. Perkins is coming off of an eighth-place finish in the long jump with a distance of 18-5 (5.61m) and an impressive performance in the triple jump, where she earned herself the No.9 spot on UW's All-Time list with a sixth-place finish and personal best jump of 40-5 (12.32m)
5. UP NEXT: The Badgers will travel to The Spire in Geneva, Ohio, for the Big Ten Indoor Championships next weekend. Events will begin at 9:40 a.m. on Friday, with events resuming on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. The meet will be streamed live on B1G+.
