BOSTON — The Wisconsin track and field team earned a pair of first-team All-America honors while Adam Spencer and Abdullahi Hassan advanced to Saturday's finals in their respective events on the second day of the 2024 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Sharp finished eighth in the 5000 meters in 13 minutes, 31.63 seconds to earn first-team All-America accolades.
The men's distance medley relay team of Joe dosReis, Jalen Williams, Andrew Casey and Bob Liking, earned the Badgers' second First-Team All-American honors of the day after finishing eighth in 9 minutes, 30.16 seconds.
Spencer was the fastest qualifier in the mile, finishing at 3:57.08. The two-time Big Ten Champion and UW school record holder in the event will go for gold in Saturday's final at 3:00 p.m. CT.
Hassan competed in a chaotic 800-meter race in which 10 athletes finished within the 1-minute, 47-second mark. The Ontario native finished eighth at 1:47.70, propelling him into Saturday's final at 3:30 p.m.
Senior Kiley Robbins was the only women's track team member to compete on the second day of the NCAA Indoor Championships. The Milwaukee native wrapped up her indoor campaign in the 60-meter dash semi-final race, finishing 13th, crossing in 7.31 seconds.
Up Next: Andrew Stone and Jason Swarens compete in the shot put starting at 1:45 p.m. CT Saturday. Spencer follows in the mile at 3:00 p.m. while Hassan will race at 3:30 p.m. All three events can be seen live on ESPN+.
