
Badgers finish eighth at Big Ten Championship

Chan made par to tie for 14th
HAVRE DE GRACE, Md. – After shooting an 18-over 882 at the 2024 Big Ten Championship, the Wisconsin women's golf team finished in eighth place at the Bull Rock Golf Course.Â
Chloe Chan finished at par after shooting a 216Â (74-69-73) to finish tied for 14th. In a late flurry, Indiana overtook Michigan State, finishing with an eight-under par (288-285-283=856) to lead the 14-team field.
Alexia Siehl tallied four birdies to make par in the final round, placing her tied for 23rd at three-over par. Chan and Kate Brody each shot a one-over 73, with Chan finishing tied for 14th at par, and Brody tying for 47th at 10-over par.
Vanessa Ho also finished tied for 47th at 10-over par with a three-over 75 capping off her Championship appearance. Ava Salay carded a four-over 76 to tie for 77th at 22-over par, and Carly Carter rounded out the lineup with a five-over 77. Carter finished tied for 45th at nine-over par.Â
Improving her first round score by five strokes, Chan shot a three-under 69 with a team-best five birdies. The junior is tied for seventh headed into the final round.Â
Carly Carter carded a two-over 74, grabbing an eagle on the second hole to tie for 30th. Vanessa Ho tallied a three-over 75 (T47), while Kate Brody (T56) and Alexia Siehl (T24) each shot a four-over 76. Ava Salay finished out the day with a six-over 78, improving her first round score by six strokes.Â
Siehl paced the Wisconsin golfers in the first round, finishing the day tied for sixth at one-under par. The sophomore tallied an eagle and two birdies in the opening round of her second Big Ten Championship.Â
Juniors Chan and Carter each shot a two-over 74, placing them tied for 25th. Chan joined Siehl by also grabbing an eagle in the round.Â
Ho carded a four-over 76 to tie for 44th, while Brody shot a five-over 77, placing her tied for 52nd. Freshman Salay rounded out the lineup with a 12-over 84 (T80).Â
