Top two boats race in semifinal action on IRA's second day

WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – The No. 16 Wisconsin men's rowing team will race in Sunday D Finals in the varsity eight and second varsity eight after both crews placed fourth in their semifinals Saturday on Mercer Lake at the 2024 Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) National Championships.

Each crew will race for places 19-24 in their final competition of the season.

The varsity eight battled, but fell just .167 seconds behind third place Georgetown for the last spot in the C Final. The second varsity eight finished just under 2.5 seconds out of the C Final.

While UW's third varsity eight had the day off waiting for Sunday's C Final (places 13-19) in their event, the varsity four finished their season with a win in the E Final to claim 25th place in the event. UW's time of 6:44.308 was just under two seconds better than Oklahoma City.
