Wisconsin hosts annual event at University Ridge
MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin women's golf team tees off a new season hosting its annual Badger Invitational at University Ridge.
The Badger Invitational is slated to begin Sunday, Sept. 8 and run through Tuesday, Sept. 10, with 18 holes being played on each day. Tee times on Sunday and Monday will begin at 9:00 a.m. CT off Holes 1 and 10. Tuesday will begin at 9:00 a.m. CT with a shotgun start.
Teams competing along with Wisconsin include Augusta, Delaware, FIU, Iowa, Nebraska, Rutgers, Sam Houston, St. Thomas, South Dakota State, South Florida, UTSA and Yale.
Home of the Badgers, University Ridge is a par-72 and will be playing at 6,297 yards for the Invitational. The course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and opened in 1991. The course, also known as "URidge", is consistently looked at as one of the top college golf courses in the country. Most recently, University Ridge was named the No. 9 best college golf course by Golf Digest.
Kate Brody, competing individually, carded the best score for the Badgers at 5-over par (75-74-72=221) to finish in a tie for 11th place.
Carly Carter (T18th place, 75-75-74=224) and Alexia Siehl (T20th place, 74-78-73=225) also earned top-20 finishes for UW.
Delaware claimed the team title, finishing at 22-over par carding a 297-282-307=886.
Grace Jin from Sam Houston State claimed the individual title, shooting a 69-71-72=212.

As a team, Wisconsin finished the second round in 8th place overall at 29-over par carding a 300-305=605.
Kate Brody, competing individually, moved into a tie for 20th place at 5-over par after shooting a second round 2-over par (74).

Wisconsin climbed three spots on the final day of competition, shooting a 6-over par (294) in the final round to finish in fifth place at the Badger Invitational (300-305-294=899).Kate Brody, competing individually, carded the best score for the Badgers at 5-over par (75-74-72=221) to finish in a tie for 11th place.
Carly Carter (T18th place, 75-75-74=224) and Alexia Siehl (T20th place, 74-78-73=225) also earned top-20 finishes for UW.
