
Starting Five: Badgers hit the road to face UIC

Badgers take their three-game winning streak into second road game of the season.
MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin women's basketball team will travel to Chicago, Illinois, to face UIC on Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 7:00 p.m. (CT). Fans can watch live on ESPN+, listen on 1070 AM, or stream via the iHeartRadio app
Here are five things to know before the Badgers face the Flames:
1. BADGER SPOTLIGHT: Graduate guard Destiny Howell continues to lead the Badgers with 15.2 points per game while shooting 47.5% from the field and 35.5% from three. She is coming off a season-high 23 points against Green Bay, where she connected on eight field goals and three three-pointers.
Junior guard Kyrah Daniels has also been a consistent, averaging 12.6 points and 5.6 rebounds, including her 21-point performance against Bowling Green.
In the paint, senior forward Gift Uchenna is averaging 8.4 points and a team-best 6.8 rebounds per game. Freshman center Dorja Zaja continues to anchor Wisconsin's rim protection, averaging 2.8 blocks per game, earning the top spot in Big Ten and one of the best in the country.
2. HISTORY VS. UIC: This will be the 21st all-time meeting between Wisconsin and UIC in a series that began in 1977. The Badgers hold a 14-6 overall advantage, including a 5-2 record on the road. The last meeting came in the 2024 season, when Wisconsin earned a 61-57 victory at the Kohl Center.
3. SCOUTING THE FLAMES: UIC enters Wednesday's game with a 1-2 record and is averaging 61.7 points per game while allowing 68.3. The Flames are shooting 40.8% from the field but just 13.9% from beyond the arc, averaging fewer than two threes per game. Defensively, UIC allows 68.3 points and 34.3 rebounds per game, while forcing 10.7 turnovers.
4. LAST TIME OUT: Wisconsin extended its winning streak to three with a 76-72 win over Green Bay.
The Badgers shot 43.9% from the field, knocked down nine three-pointers, and went 17-for-24 from the free-throw line.
Howell led the way with a season-best 23 points, while Daniels matched her career high with nine rebounds. Wisconsin's bench once again made a major impact, outscoring Green Bay's reserves 29–8, helping the Badgers improve to 4–1 on the season.
