Take your mark: Badgers set for 2025 Big Tens

Wisconsin looks to improve upon fourth-place finish
MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin men's swim and dive team begins postseason competition at the Big Ten Championships Wednesday, February 26-Saturday, March 1 in Minneapolis, Minn. at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center. Prelims begin at 9 a.m. (CT) with finals set for 4 p.m. (CT) each day.
Before competition begins, here are five things to know:
1. SCOUTING THE COMPETITION: The Badgers (3-2, 1-2) are slated for stacked competition over the weekend with five Top-25 teams in the Big Ten. Indiana is among the best in the country, sitting at No. 2. The No. 10 Michigan Wolverines round out the Top-10. Ohio State isn't too far behind them at No. 13, with new Big Ten foe USC checking in at No. 16. Minnesota moved into the Top-25 in the final poll after not being ranked, they now sit at No. 24. The Badgers fell to Michigan earlier this season, before taking down Minnesota 158-142.
2. BIG TENS RECAP: Last season, the Badgers took home a fourth-place finish for the fourth time in five years, scoring 1,044.5 points. Indiana was crowned champion with 1,520 points, followed by Ohio State (1,226) and Michigan (1,153). The highlight of the meet included Taiko Torepe-Ormsby's gold medal in the 50 free and Yigit Aslan's in the 500 free. Dominik Mark-Torok joined the fun with a first-place finish in the 400 IM, as well as a gold medal and new school record in the 200 freestyle relay, with the team of Torepe-Ormsby, Ben Wiegand, Chris Morris and Andrew Benson.
3. MEN'S B1G LEADERS: Taiko Torepe-Ormsby sits at seventh in the 50 free with an NCAA B cut. In the 200 freestyle, Chris Morris leads the Badgers and checks in at 8th in the Big Ten. Freshman Yoav Romano and senior Yigit Aslan are ranked seventh and eighth, respectively, in the 500 free, each with an NCAA B cut. Aslan also leads the Badgers and sits at fourth in the Big Ten in the 1000 freestyle. Dominik Torok leads the Badgers and ranks tenth in the 200 fly with an NCAA B cut. Morris and Torok rank 11th and 12th in the 200 IM, while Torok sits at third in the 400 IM.
4. DIVING RIGHT IN: The lone male diver for the Badgers, Jan Lanser, will look to improve upon his impressive season. He sits at 17th on the 3-meter with 388.28, 32nd on the 1-meter with 304.13 points and 14th on the platform with 301.20 points.
