MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin women's cross country team finished the Badger Classic with a perfect race on a perfect day at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Course on Friday morning
UW posted a score of 15 points to win its first meet of the season.Â
Redshirt Junior Bella Jacobsen crossed the line first for the Badgers with a 6K time of 21 minutes, 45.9 seconds. Finishing aside Jacobsen, Graduate Student Kylie Finger and Mya Bunke scored 0.1 and 0.2 seconds behind Jacobsen.Â
Marquette finished with 50 points and Wisconsin-Platteville finished in third with 83 points.Â
The Badgers led the pack throughout the race, sticking together for a majority of the race.  Emma Kruse, competed in her first cross country race as a Badger, finishing in 8th place with a time of 22:26.3. Â
UP NEXT: UW will head down to the Windy City to take part in the 46th annual Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational at Sydney R. Marovitz Golf Course in Chicago on Friday, Oct. 3.Â
