Wisconsin aims to match its Big Ten win total from the 2024-25 season
MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin women's basketball team (11-6, 3-3 B1G) stays on the road Thursday, Jan. 15, to take on the Northwestern Wildcats (7-10, 1-5 B1G) at 7:00 p.m. CT, with the game available to stream on B1G+. The Badgers then return home Sunday, Jan. 18, to host the Oregon Ducks at 3:00 p.m. CT, streamed on the Big Ten Network and the FOX Sports app.
Here are five things to Know before the Badgers face the Wildcats and Ducks:Â
1. BADGER SPOTLIGHT:
Junior guard Kyrah Daniels is one of Wisconsin's top scorers, totaling 218 points so far this season. She averages 12.8 points per game and has pulled down 80 rebounds, the second-most on the team. Daniels also leads the Badgers in three-pointers made, connecting on 36 shots from beyond the arc.
Gift Uchenna has made a significant impact on the defensive end. She leads the team with 105Â rebounds and also has a team-high 24 blocks. Her 1.4 blocks per game tie her for fifth in the Big Ten.
2. SCOUTING THE WILDCATS:
Northwestern boasts a 7-10 overall record and a 1-5 mark in Big Ten play. Under head coach Joe McKeown, the Wildcats are averaging 65.8 points and 36.1 rebounds per game.
Wisconsin and Northwestern have met more than 80 times in program history. While the Badgers trail the all-time series, 48-34, they won the most recent matchup, 73-68.
3. SCOUTING THE DUCKS:
Oregon enters the game with a 14-4 overall record and a 2-3 mark in the Big Ten. The Ducks are averaging 78.4 points and 36.4 rebounds per game under 11th-year head coach Kelly Graves.
The all-time series between Wisconsin and Oregon is tied 2-2, with the most recent meeting coming in the 2025 season in Eugene. Sunday's game will mark the first time the Badgers host the Ducks at the Kohl Center.
4. LAST TIME OUT:
Wisconsin dropped to Michigan 86-60. The Badgers were efficient in the fourth quarter, connecting on 53% of their shots and 67% from three-point range in the final 10 minutes. Despite the late push Wisconsin was unable to come back.Â
Wisconsin closed the game shooting 40.0% (22-55) from the field, 27.3% from the three-point range and 90.9% (10-11) from the free throw line.Â
