1. LAST TIME OUT
On Friday and Saturday, Jan. 9 and 10, the Badgers played No. 8 UMD. In game one of the series, UW tied and then lost in a shootout. UW’s captain, Caroline Harvey, provided the Badger's lone goal.
However, the squad bounced back to win 5-1 on Saturday. Kelly Gorbatenko, Caroline Harvey, Kirsten Simms, Adéla Šapovalivová, and Laila Edwards all found the back of the net in the game.
2. OH, CANADA
On Monday, Team Canada announced that five former Badgers will compete at the Milano-Cortina Olympics in February.
Emily Clark, Blayre Turnbull, Daryl Watts, Ann-Renee Desbiens and Sarah Nurse were all named to the roster for the 2026 Games.
Wisconsin now has 12 players participating in the Olympics across the USA, Canada and Czechia - the most ever in a single Olympics, surpassing 2022's total of 11.
3. AVA AGAIN
Junior goaltender Ava McNaughton gathered her second straight WCHA Goaltender of the Week award on Monday.
McNaughton stayed in the net the entirety of both games against No. 8 Minnesota Duluth, making 25 saves in game one, including the last 23 in a row.
The junior is amongst the 12 total Badgers representing Wisconsin at the Winter Olympics.
For the 2024-25 season, McNaughton was named the HCA Goaltender of the Year.
4. AGAINST THE TOMMIES

The Badgers continued their win streak this season with a series sweep at home in November.
In game one, Wisconsin shut out the Tommies 8-0. In the second game of the series, the Badgers were sent into overtime. Cassie Hall scored the game-winning goal, and UW won 4-3.
5. NO. 1
Wisconsin remains No. 1 in the WCHA, USCHO and USA Today polls. For the WCHA standings, the Badgers have 41 points. No. 2 Ohio State and No. 3 Minnesota trail behind with 38 and 36 points. UW’s WCHA record is 13-1-2, and overall is 19-1-2.
The squad leads the league in goals scored (121), assists (210), shots on goal (1037), power-play percentage (.342), and penalty-killing percentage (.915).
