
Badgers earn first home victory of 2026

Wisconsin sweeps Chicago State, 7-0
MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin men's tennis team opened play at Nielsen Tennis Stadium with a decisive 7-0 victory over Chicago State. The Badgers earned the doubles point and saw wins on every court in singles play to complete the sweep.
UW won by default at No. 3 doubles as Chicago State did not have a complete roster. The Badgers' No. 1 partnership of Oliver Olsson and Tomas Zlatohlavek quickly secured the doubles point with a 6-1 victory.
In singles action Olsson won by default at No. 6 doubles, giving Wisconsin an early 2-0 lead. Sophomore Ferdinand Kloesters dominated at No. 3 singles, defeating Chicago State's Joao Teixeira in straight sets. Kloesters won every game en route to his first collegiate dual match victory.
Junior Collin Beduhn secured the team win with a straight set victory over Justin Atkins at No. 5 singles. Patrik Meszaros made his first career appearance at No.1 singles and defeated Chicago State's Chad Valdes in straight sets. Sophomores Edouard Aubert and Sachiv Kumar secured the Badger sweep with straight set victories of their own.
Wisconsin improves to 2-1 after dropping just 15 total games against Chicago State.
Up Next: The Badgers return to Nielsen Tennis Stadium Friday, Jan. 30 when they take on Western Michigan. The match in Madison is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. CT.
