The Badgers look to secure first win over Huskies since 2001
MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin is set to host No. 24 Washington Huskies on Sunday, Feb. 8 at 2:00 pm (CT). The game can be streamed on B1G+.Â
Here are five things to know before the Badgers face the Huskies:
1. THREE BALL THREAT:Wisconsin has taken a major step forward from beyond the arc in the 2025–26 season. The Badgers are averaging 8.9 made three-pointers per game, up from 6.0 last season, ranking first in the Big Ten (22nd nationally), while shooting 35.1% from three. Wisconsin has increased its three-point attempts from 17.8 per game in 2024–25 (243rd nationally) to 25.3 in 2025–26 (39th), a jump of 7.5 attempts per contest.Â
2. SCOUTING THE HUSKIES:
Head coach Tina Langley brings Washington to Madison with a 17-6 overall record and a 7-5 mark in conference play. The Huskies most recently battled No. 9 Ohio State and were bested 70-60.
Leading the Washington attack is junior guard Sayvia Sellers, who averages 19.4 points per game. Forward Avery Howell is another key contributor, averaging around 13.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game.
3. SERIES HISTORY:
The series between the Badgers and the Huskies dates back to 1990 with the teams meeting only six times since. The most recent matchup came in the 2024-25 season with Wisconsin dropping to Washington 79-58 in Seattle. In Madison the series is tied 1-1.Â
The Wisconsin women's basketball team dropped to Indiana 77-74. Kyrah Daniels led the Badgers with 15 points and eight rebounds. Destiny Howell contributed 15 points of her own with four rebounds. Shay Bollin matched her career-high 14 points, with nine coming from the perimeter.Â
Wisconsin ended shooting 45.5% (30-66) from the field, 40.9% (9-22) from deep and 71.4% (5-7) from the free throw line.Â
