Biography

2015-16 (Senior): Consistently raced with the second varsity eight, rowing to a sixth place finish at the Eastern Sprints in May before helping the boat to a fifth place finish at the IRA National Championships... also helped the boat to a win at the Stanford Invite and competed in the stroke seat for the second varsity eight at the Princeton Chase during the fall season... sat three seat for the varsity eight that placed second at Syracuse and third at the Devil's Lake Dual.

2014-15 (Junior): Filled in the fourth, second, and third seats seven times as a junior for the varsity eight crew and rowed with the second varsity eight twice in the third and fourth seats…rowed with the varsity eight crew that placed second in the Stanford Invite and rode fourth in a win over MIT, and rode fourth in second place finishes over Boston University and Northeastern… placed 12th with the second varsity eight at the IRA National Championships.

2013-14 (Sophomore): Competed with the first varsity eight crew in the Head of the Charles, placing eighteen in the meet in October...rowed with the second varsity eight crew that boasted first-place wins against Oregon State and Stanford and a second-place finish against California in the Stanford Invite in April...helped the first varsity eight crew come in second in a match-up between Boston University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology and in a meet against Northeastern...filled the fourth seat of the second varsity eight boat that finished seventh overall in the Eastern Conference Sprints...rowed with the second varsity eight crew in the 2014 Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championships, placing eight overall among twenty-four participating teams.

2012-13 (Freshman): Consistently filled the eighth seat of the first novice eight boat during the 2013 spring racing season, helping the squad to its victories over Stanford and Northeastern and second-place finishes to California and Boston University...rowed eighth seat for the first novice eights at the 2013 Eastern Conference Sprints, where the boat took fourth place amongst all teams in the Eastern Association of Rowing Colleges conference...helped propel the first novice eight squad to a seventh-place overall finish at the 2013 Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championships.

High School: Competed in wrestling and baseball for three years...played football for two years.

Personal: Parents are Julie and Gary...has one brother, Matthew...major is biochemistry and applied mathematics in biological structures...received All-Big Ten Academic Honors in the 2012-2013 rowing season.

Reason for choosing UW-Madison: Great education, the big campus feel, and the rowing program.

What Wisconsin Rowing means to you: Pushing myself day in and day out to my limits. Constantly striving to get better and competing with myseful during the winter training. Cut-throat on the water, teammates off the water.
