Former Badger All-American Caleb Aman joined the Wisconsin men’s and women’s swimming and diving coaching staff in 2023. In addition to his coaching duties, Aman will also coordinate UW’s recruiting and social media operations.

“Caleb did a fantastic job in a volunteering role last year and we’re excited to welcome him to our staff full time,” said Head Coach Yuri Suguiyama. “His passion for coaching combined with his ability to relate to and work with the athletes having just been in their shoes makes him a great addition to our staff.”

One of the Badgers’ top individual medley performers, Aman ranks second on the UW top-10 performance list in the 200 individual medley (1:43.46), second in the 400 IM (3:39.76), and third in the 200 breaststroke (1:53.86).  He also competed 2020 U.S. Olympic Trials in the 200 IM, 400 IM and 200 breast.

A three-time NCAA qualifier, the Bettendorf, Iowa, native earned second-team All-America honors in the 400 individual medley in 2021 and 2022, placing 14th and 13th, respectively.  Aman was also a four-time Big Ten Conference scorer, including finishing third in the 200 breaststroke, third in the 400 IM and fifth in the 200 IM in 2022.  As a junior, he took fourth in the 400 IM, sixth in the 200 IM and 12th in the 200 breaststroke while Aman took seventh in the 400 IM, 13th in the 200 IM and 22nd in the 200 breaststroke as a sophomore.

“I am deeply grateful to join this staff,” said Aman. “Being a Badger holds a special significance for me, both as a student-athlete and now as a staff member. I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to continue my journey here in Madison. Throughout the past five years, I have personally witnessed the remarkable growth of our program, and it just keeps getting better. Thank you to Yuri and Marija (Pientka) for trusting me with this incredible opportunity. Always forward, never straight. On, Wisconsin!”

Aman is a 2023 Wisconsin graduate in communication arts. He served as a volunteer student assistant coach with the Badgers during the 2022-23 season, helping primarily with our mid-distance and distance group.
