With 13 true freshmen in addition to two transfers, the Wisconsin men’s soccer team has many new faces for the upcoming season. Follow along as UWBadgers.com introduces the newest Badgers during preseason training camp. Today, we meet freshman Nick Janus of Deer Park, Ill.
Why did you choose Wisconsin?
I liked the soccer program and thought the school had a really fun atmosphere.
What are you expecting out of your first season at UW?
To learn and contribute to the overall success of the team
What goals do you have for the upcoming season?
To learn the UW soccer system and try to contribute to a winning season
How did you spend your summer?
Part-time job, playing club soccer and getting ready for Madison
What is the strongest part of your game?
I think holding the ball and getting other players involved in the play
What part of your game needs the most work?
I wish I was faster.
What is your favorite thing about Madison?
I like the atmosphere of the campus. It's just always fun to be here.
What are your pregame rituals?
I take a shower before every game.

Zoology

Hanging out with friends, reading, watching TV

My friends call me Janus or Jan.
