MADISON, Wis. -- Arizona and UNLV proved to be tenacious competition for the Wisconsin men's swimming and diving team, as the Badgers fell to both the Wildcats and the Rebels in a pair of dual meets Friday in Tucson, Ariz.

Despite a rocky start at the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center, the Badgers finished the meet on a positive note, taking second place in the 200-yard freestyle relay behind UNLV's squad. Andrews, Phil Davies, Wes Lagerhausen and Chris Nemeth put a cap on the meet with the runner-up finish, clocking in at 1:25.77.

Senior Derrick O'Donnell had the Badgers' only win in the desert, swimming the 200-yard individual medley in 1:56.15 to take the victory ahead of teammate and fellow senior Eric Johnson, who was third in a time of 2:03.74.

Caleb Percevecz, Chuck Allison and Brett Nagle also had impressive individual performances and helped the Badgers stay above water during their first competition away from the UW Natatorium this season.

Percevecz was runner up to Arizona's Ben Grado in both diving events of the evening, tallying 321.60 points in the 1-meter competition and 344.60 on the 3-meter board.

Nagle competed well individually, grabbing fourth place in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:57.20 and taking third the 500 free, with a time of 4:43.13.

Allison claimed a fifth-place finish behind Nagle in the 200 fly, clocking a time of 1:57.22, and then was third in the 100 fly at 51.61.

Teammate Conner Andrews followed Allison in the 100 fly, clocking a 52.77 for a fourth-place finish.

Next on deck for Wisconsin is a matchup against Big Ten rival Northwestern. The Badgers will journey to Evanston, Ill., to battle Wildcats on Friday, Nov. 13 at 5 p.m.
