MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin Badgers men's swim and dive team opened its season with a win against Green Bay at the Soderholm Family Aquatic Center Friday afternoon. The Badgers took home 206 points to Green Bay's 60. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

Wisconsin stayed strong, going one, two, three in almost every event. Senior Yoav Romano won both his events, finishing with a time of 9:15.62 in the 1000 freestyle and 4:25.11 in the 500 freestyle. 

Luukas Vainio also had a clean sweep of first-place finishes on the night with a time of 1:37.44 in the 200 free and a time of 44.29 in the 100 free. 

Making his collegiate debut, Enzo Solitario put up strong second-place finishes in the 200 butterfly and 500 free with times of 1:47.23 and 4:29.46, respectively. 

Senior Jan Lanser held consistent on the 1-meter and 3-meter boards for the Badgers, finishing with scores of 303.52 and 361.43, respectively. 

UP NEXT

The Badgers will hit the road to South Bend, Indiana, to take on Notre Dame and Michigan in a meet on Friday, Oct. 10, at 4 p.m.
