MADISON, Wis. -- Despite fighting back from a 1-0 deficit to force overtime, the Wisconsin women's soccer team saw its five-match winning streak come to an end Sunday afternoon with a 2-1, overtime loss at 14th-ranked Milwaukee.
Freshman Cara Walls scored her team-leading fourth goal of the year for the Badgers, as the team drops to 5-2-0 on the season with both losses coming against ranked foes.

Sarah Hagen proved to be the difference for the Panthers (6-1-0) as she scored both of her team's goals.
It was the first meeting between the two schools since last year's opening round of the NCAA tournament where Wisconsin bested Milwaukee, 2-1.
"I thought we responded well after we gave up a goal," head coach Paula Wilkins said. "We came out at halftime and I thought we did better to get the goal back. I thought Laurie [Nosbusch] did a fantastic job in terms of creating the opportunity.
"I thought Monica Lam-Feist did a good job of controlling the midfield. But we just looked physically tired. I don't know if it's the travel, but we need to make sure that we get our legs back underneath us here for our next game against Central Michigan."
UWM outshot the Badgers, 24-10, on the day, including a 9-to-3 advantage in the first half and a 14-to-6 edge in the second half. Ten of the Panthers' shots landed on net, compared to six for Wisconsin.
"I was disappointed with the start of our game," Wilkins said. "I thought that we came out quite flat for parts of the game and I take responsibility as a coach not having them prepared to come out in the tempo that they needed to.
"I thought that Milwaukee did a good job of putting us under pressure and taking chances and keeping the ball. We were a bit disorganized, didn't stick to what our game plan was going to be and got off beat by that first goal."
The Panthers opened the scoring in the 36th minute when Hagen scored her first goal of the day.
Wisconsin goalkeeper Michele Dalton saved a shot over the net, resulting in a corner kick. Off the kick, the Badgers blocked the initial shot off the line but the ball ended up right at the foot of Hagen who put it into the back of the net.
Dalton finished the game with seven saves, while Jamie Forbes had four for the Panthers. Each squad also recorded a team save.
The scored remained 1-0 heading into halftime, but the Badgers found the equalizer in the 58th minute.
Laurie Nosbusch gained possession and dribbled the ball up the far side. Nearing the end line, she centered the ball to Walls who put it into an open net to knot the game at 1-1.
The rest of the second half featured good scoring chances for each team.
In the 64th minute, Monica Lam-Feist got a shot off following a scramble in front of the net, but it went over the cross bar.
In the 70th minute, Hagen created space for herself and got a shot away but Dalton was able to push it over the net. On the ensuing corner kick, Lauren Reid saved a shot off the line to keep the game even.
Late in regulation the Panthers put together a pair of good looks but couldn't convert.
A foul was called on the Badgers approximately 10 yards outside of the penalty box. Hagen lined up to take the kick and aimed for the far top corner, but her shot went wide.
A minute later, Hagen again got a shot off. She went with a low shot for the far post. Dalton dove to her right and just got her fingertips on it to put it out of play. Nothing came as a result of the corner kick.
The game-winner came in the 97th minute and, again, it was Hagen. She was able to beat a pair of UW defenders and blast a powerful shot past Dalton.
After spending the last four games away from home, the Badgers return to the McClimon Soccer Complex on Wednesday for a matchup against Central Michigan at 5 p.m.
"We need to play quicker," Wilkins said of playing the Chippewas. "We gave away too many balls today and had to defend too much just because of poor decisions and the lack of making quicker decisions to open up early. We played a bit individual today and we need to get back to what we do well as a team."
