Final Stats
MADISON, Wis. -- While the majority of the UW men's tennis roster was participating in the Milwaukee Tennis Classic, sophomores Josef Dodridge and Lamar Remy traveled to Princeton, New Jersey for the Ivy Plus Tournament. Dodridge went 2-2 in singles action, while Remy posted a mark of 1-3 on the weekend.
Playing in the Nassau Flight, Dodridge pulled out an opening-round win over Princeton's Joshua Yablon, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. He was knocked off in the second round, 7-6 (5), 6-3, by Brown's Gregory Garcia. Dodridge would bounce back to cruise past Grayson Broadus of Notre Dame, 6-2, 6-2, but his singles weekend wrapped up with a 6-1, 6-4 loss to Princeton's Diego Vives.
Remy also etched a first-round victory, slipping past Alexander Day of host Princeton, 7-5, 6-3. Remy would fall to Michigan's Myles Schalet in the second round, 7-6 (6), 6-2. In the consolation bracket, Remy would suffer defeats at the hands of Carlos Bautista (Tulsa) and Jimmy Wasserman (Princeton).
In the 64-team, single-elimination doubles tournament Dodridge and Remy fell in the opening round, 8-4, to the duo of Peter Tarwid and Gregory Garcia of Brown.
A field made up of players from Brown, Bucknell, Buffalo, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Indiana, Miami (FL), Michigan, NJIT, Notre Dame, Old Dominion, Penn, Penn State, Princeton, St. John's, Tennessee, Tulsa, Virginia Tech and Yale took the courts for the three-day event at the Lenz Tennis Center on the Princeton campus.
