Pankowski joins four former UW standouts at five-day camp

MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin women's hockey sophomore Annie Pankowski and four former Badgers were invited to the United States Women's National Team Off-Ice Training Camp in Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Hockey announced Wednesday.

Pankowski joins former UW stars Brianna Decker, Meghan Duggan, Hilary Knight and Alex Rigsby at the five-day camp which focuses on strength and conditioning, nutrition and mental skills.

The five Badgers, along with 2009 Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award winner Jessie Vetter, helped the U.S. win gold at the 2016 IIHF Women's World Championships this past April.

The camp, which features 29 participants, starts on June 1 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center and concludes on June 5.

The U.S. camp comes a month after Canada's National Women's Program strength and conditioning camp, which featured UW sophomore Emily Clark.
