MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin women's soccer team (11-4-2 overall, 5-3-2 Big Ten) plays its last regular-season game at home against Penn State (10-3-3, 6-1-3) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Wednesday's contest will be streamed live on BTN plus while live statistics are available on UWBadgers.com and live updates are available on Twitter (@BadgerWSoccer).
1. WE IN: UW clinched a spot in the Big Ten Tournament after shutting out Iowa 3-0 on the road. Freshman Cameron Murtha opened up scoring after launching in a corner kick from fellow freshman Sammy Kleedtke. Dani Rhodes got back to her scoring ways, knocking in the second goal and dishing the assist to senior Becca Harrison for the final goal.
2. HIT THE RHODES: Rhodes has had points in 10 of 17 games this season. She ranks third in the conference for goals (10), goals per game (0.59), points (24) and points per game (1.41).
3. ON WEDNESDAYS, WE WEAR PINK: Wednesday's contest is the "Go Pink" match as fans wearing pink will receive $1 admission at the McClimon Complex.
4. WE'VE GOT HISTORY: Wisconsin enters the Oct. 25 game being down in the series lead, 3-20-4. The last time these Big Ten teams faced off came last season in Madison. Penn State left victorious, 1-0.
5. WILKINS WAS THERE: Wisconsin head coach Paula Wilkins was the head coach at Penn State from 2001 to 2006 where she took the Nittany Lions to the NCAA tournament all six years and took them to two College Cups. In addition, PSU won six Big Ten regular season championships, along with a pair of Big Ten Tournament titles.
