1. HISTORIC SWEEP: Last weekend the Badgers defeated No. 6 Minnesota 3-2 on Saturday and 2-1 in overtime on Sunday to sweep the Golden Gophers for the first time since the 2006-07 season. The series marks just the fifth time the Badgers have swept the Gophers, and the third time Wisconsin has claimed a road series against Minnesota since the Border Battle rivalry began in 1999. With the sweep, the Badgers are now 3-1-2 in their last six contests against the Gophers.

2. HOME COOKING: After sweeping Bemidji State at LaBahn Arena two weeks ago, the Badgers improve their home unbeaten streak to 18 games, having not lost a home contest in nearly a year. In the stretch, UW has outscored its opponents 90-11, averaging a whopping five goals per home contest.

3. FAMILIAR FACES: This weekend's series will include a reunion between senior forward Claudia Kepler and her former teammates from Ohio State. The Verona, Wisconsin, native spent three seasons with the Buckeyes before transferring to Wisconsin in 2016. During her time at Ohio State, Kepler recorded 67 points from 39 goals and 28 assists. She also led the team in goals each of her three seasons, notching a career-high 14 goals her junior year. This year Kepler is more than halfway to her career high in goals with a team-best eight goals for the Badgers.

4. A WINNING WEEK: After leading the Badgers to last weekend's sweep of Minnesota, senior forward Baylee Wellhausen and sophomore goaltender Kristen Campbell earned WCHA weekly honors. Wellhausen received Offensive Player of the Week honors after recording her first goal of the season in Wisconsin's 3-2 win over UM on Saturday and notching the overtime gamewinner to lift the Badgers 2-1 over the Gophers on Sunday. Campbell stopped 41 of 44 shots from Minnesota over the weekend to earn her second Defensive Player of the Week award of the year.

On Wednesday, Abby Roque was named the WCHA Offensive Player of the Month while Campbell was named the WCHA Defensive Player of the Month. Roque has enjoyed a stellar start to the season with a league-high 16 points off four goals and a league-best 12 assists. Campbell leads the NCAA in goals-against average with a 1.00 clip while her .946 save percentage ranks second in the WCHA and fifth among NCAA netminders.

5. HOT STARTS: Wisconsin and Ohio State are two of three remaining unbeaten teams in the NCAA, the other being second-ranked Boston College. The Badgers' 12-0-0 record is a second-best in program history, just six games behind their 18-0-0 record at the start of the 2015-16 season. During Wisconsin's hot start, the Badgers have averaged 3.58 goals per game and 34 shots per contest. Additionally, Wisconsin's defense has allowed an average of 1.00 goals per game.

After going 3-4-1 in its first eight games of the 2016-17 season, Ohio State enters this weekend's series with a 7-0-1 record, the best start in OSU program history. So far this year, the Buckeyes have outscored opponents 30-11 and have averaged 3.75 goals per game.
