MADISON, Wis. – The top-ranked Wisconsin women's hockey team heads to the Washington D.C. area to take on Northeastern and Boston University in the D1 in D.C. Tournament at the Kettler IcePlex in Arlington, Virginia. The Badgers and Northeastern meet on Friday in a 3 p.m. CT contest before UW and BU matchup on Saturday in a noon affair.

Fans can follow the game on Twitter (@BadgerWHockey) and check UWBadgers.com following each game for a recap.

1. STELLAR STRETCH: Thanks to a series sweep of then-No. 7 Cornell last weekend, the Badgers rounded out a difficult six-game stint against ranked opponents in convincing fashion, winning every contest and outscoring opponents 20-6 in the process. The Badgers began the stretch with a historic pair of wins over No. 6 Minnesota where in Wisconsin earned just its third road series sweep of the Gophers in program history and the first one since the 2006-07 season. A week later, Wisconsin scored a combined 10 goals as the Badgers skated past then-No. 4 Ohio State to claim their seventh series sweep of the season before completing the stretch with a pair of victories over the Big Red.

2. SOUP-ERB PERFORMANCE: Sophomore goaltender Kristen Campbell continues to shine in the net for Wisconsin. The Brandon, Manitoba native leads the NCAA in goals-against average, allowing just .94 goals a contest. The netminder ranks second in both save percentage with a .951 clip and shutouts with four clean slates. Since she joined the Badgers' roster, Campbell's performances between the pipes have earned her three WCHA Defensive Player of the Week honors, WCHA Goaltender of the Month (Oct.) and an NCAA First Star of the Week. Campbell also leads the program history books as the first Wisconsin goaltender in to start a season with a perfect 16-0-0 ledger.

3. GROWING THE GAME: The Badgers head to Washington D.C. to face Northeastern and Boston University in non-conference battles. This weekend's trip marks the fifth time Wisconsin has hosted games at a neutral site in an effort to grow the game of hockey across the country. Previously, Wisconsin met opponents for tournaments in Fort Meyers, Florida, Lakewood, California and Vail, Colorado.

This year's tournament, which also features WCHA rival Minnesota State, will be held at the Kettler Iceplex, which is the practice facility of the Washington Capitals.

4. SCOUTING THE DOGS: Wisconsin has met the Terriers and the Huskies in a combined 13 non-conference matchups, leading the all-time series against both Boston University and Northeastern with records of 5-0-0 and 5-1-2, respectively. Northeastern (7-7-2, 5-4-1 WHEA) is coming off a two-game series against Hockey East opponent Maine, splitting the series 1-1 with the Black Bears after a win and a loss. Boston University (4-6-2, 3-5-2 WHEA) will head into this weekend's tournament after earning a series sweep over Vermont on the road.

5. TRYING TO MAKE HISTORY IN D.C.: A pair of victories this weekend in the nation's capital would tie UW's best start to a season. The 2015-16 squad went 18-0-0 to begin the season. UW's 16-game winning streak is also the fourth-longest in program history and the sixth-longest streak in WCHA history.
